The Selection of Fonts

The game uses both classic and experimental fonts. Some come from the history of typography, while others are contemporary designs with innovative or unconventional styles. All fonts used are available as free fonts.

Renaissance Antiqua. Garamond is a group of fonts used since the 16th century, originating from Claude Garamond. It appears serious and offers high readability without seeming old-fashioned.

Bodoni Moda

Neoclassical Antiqua. The Bodoni variants trace back to the printer and type designer Giambattista Bodoni (1740–1814) and emphasize the contrast between thick and thin lines. It appears clear and strict, ideal for titles and covers, but loses readability in small sizes.

Henri Didot

Neoclassical Antiqua. Didot is a neoclassical Antiqua font. The first designs come from François Didot (1689–1757). It appears delicate, fashionable, and highly formal, which is why it is often used in magazines and fashion contexts (Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar). It is only conditionally suitable for long texts.

NotoSerif

Noto was developed by Google in 2014 to make all Unicode characters available in a single font family. It is currently available for over 100 languages. The Latin, Greek, and Cyrillic characters in Noto Sans are based on designs by Steve Matteson. For East Asian scripts, Asian type design companies like Changzhou SinoType Technology, Iwata Corporation, and Sandoll Communication collaborated.
